Family and Friends

In my involvement with SUPP these last 22 years, I've got to know all different characters. Some are very committed without asking for any 'reward', others are the 'you scratch-my-back, I scratch yours' type of personalities, then there are others who'd only want to know you when you are in the good books of the Boss! Life is interesting...

You may be surprised at all these Chinese notes that are being published here - that's my talented friend and my children. My friend whom I've got to know better recently, has helped me to translate some of my thoughts for the benefit of Chinese readers. All this while I'm always learning to improve my Mandarin. My children are also a great resource for me - that's why my husband and I have sent them to Chinese school. It has been a great advantage for them.

Talking about vernacular education - while I too realise the growing racial polarisation in Malaysia, I also feel that we are lucky to have the option available to us to select different medium of education in Malaysia.

I hope that with more open discussion and the involvement of parents, we can come up with programs for the good of all.
