Lose some & win some

We just had a turbulent day yesterday. Unfortunately, some of us were willing to risk a split, just to achieve their own personal agenda.
We were given a good progressive option, to go for a one to one fight for the Chair, loser takes a second position. I agreed to that proposal as that way we can still have an inclusive team.  Strange way is that even though 20: 7 branches agreeing to that manner of voting, the Election Committee ruled that the motion must be put to the floor.  These 7 branches carried a slim majority to reject one to one election and decided to go for the traditional election for the whole Central Committee of 49!
You can imagine the counting process of selecting top 49 our of 100 candidates! We didn't finish until close to midnight. Poor staff and members who stayed back to help.

Anyway, at end of the day as predicted, the big branches carried the day and 7 branches were the casualties as they were excluded.  So even though I was elected in as one of the 49, I could not accept the position as a Central Committee member when 7 branches are excluded.

So that was that.

My point is that election should have been be a healthy election unless the parties want to use dirty tactics. It is within our control and our choice.

That kind of 2 tier election squashed my hope for a NEW SUPP WOMAN : one with Integrity, Intelligence and Independence. That is my only regret.

My comfort is the women in Southern Zone are motivated, united and very independent. That is my win!

Tomorrow is 2nd day of our SUPP Delegates' Conference where Delegates will speak- I am hopeful for a positive outcome to chart our direction.

Ah! We had a relaxing fellowship with the Delegates tonight. I had the opportunity to thank some of the Women Delegates and a hug to my Comrade Suzanne Lee to wish her and her team all the best.

We move on.

Some Leaders should take responsibility for this "one-side" WSCC. It is really an unhealthy election. Is that mean the small branches always be the toys and only those big branches can be player? Really mad about what happened that day. The tactics they use should only against opposition in the state election, not in our party.
May god forgive those who had done wrong, really really wrong....

I've been informed that the polling session too loose, anyone can go into the polling room, and the worst part checking the votes by the delegates..

It's ok, we participated in the election process and we have to accept the outcome. It's just that I cannot agree to be part of an incomplete group.
Anyway, as I said I wish the new leadership of SUPP Central Women Section all the best.
As for me I have closed that Chapter and look ahead to strengthen my Branch in the face of challenging times ahead. Any good people, please come forward to offer your services!
Thanks and Merry X'mas.
